Title: Threads - shall I, shan't I?

Description: In just under a week Threads by Instagram (Meta) has ammassed over 100 million users. This deserves a closer look. 

I signed up for Threads on Friday morning last week as soon as I saw the masses of invites from friends that had been up later than me the night before. I've played all week and here's what happened.  

Day 2 I moved it to my homepage on my phone
Day 3 I started checking it first thing in the morning despite having a really strict policy not to check my socials when I wake up
Day 4 I checked it less but still had a nice feeling when I did

In the video I give you an indepth run down on the functionality andmy thoughts on whether you should invest your time in the platform or not.

Action:

The play here is to decide if you are going all in or not.

All in means posting everyday, probably multiple times. Building a community of followers will take time but there is an opportunity to do so early if you want it. I'm not convinced it won't just end up being a carbon copy of twitter (see video) over time so be prepared for that.

If you don't want to do this then I personally think it will become another distraction and until your clients and personas adopt it, I wouldn't worry about rushing on. If I feel that changes over time I'll post in the LinkedIn Group to let you know.

From a business perspective I would try it to see if your clients/customers/personas are there. It goes right back to the roots of Twitter in that its a conversational platform. Businesses that merely post about themselves will fall flat in the same way those that used Twitter for that purpose did so. If you're going to jump on then build relationships.
